Hello my name is Carrie,

Welcome to chalkboardsigns.co.uk, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself & my company.

I have been a chalkboard artist for about 12 years now & I specialise in all aspects or the design & sign trade.

Through out my whole life I have been interested in all styles of writing & illustration.

I started out working in a bar in Mountnessing (Essex) when I was 18 years old, when one day the manager asked if anyone would like to design the chalkboards,  having an artistic background I jumped at the chance.

After spending a few hours on them they were finally finished & put back up for people to see.

I received such positive responses from our customers, that my manager asked me to design them on a regular basis, in fact I would go in to work solely to design the boards & not work behind the bar, this gave me confidence in what I was doing & I developed a passion for it.

After being “The George & Dragon’s” personal chalkboard artist for a few months & seeing people reactions to my work I decided to go further afield, so I took some photos of the work I had done, presented them in a portfolio style folder & went to the pub down the road called “The Plough”. I showed them my work & explained to them what I intended doing & they also asked me to do their chalkboards on a regular basis.

& so on & so on, I took photos of all of my work & visited every pub in the area showing them my designs & the rest is history, I now have a large client base & I visit most of them on a regular basis.

There are not many people that get the opportunity to do the job they love doing, therefore I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones, I wont lie it hasn’t been easy but it has been worth every effort.
